News Coming Your Way: Clean Beauty News & More
For several years, I've been trying to get back to blogging. I'm a writer by nature. It's the way I communicate best, and I've decided that during a time when other platforms are unreliable (at best) that I would return to a non-AI style of writing to share all of my favorite things with you: clean beauty and living, fun fashion trends for the modest, fitness and health news, reflections about motherhood, and more, I'm sure.
My goal with this platform is to provide resources and be a guide. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a stickler for high performance, ingredient lists without toxins, and quality packaging that doesn't leech chemicals into my products. I also looooovve cute sweaters with leggings, quality loose-leaf teas, sushi and dark-dark chocolate, holistic health hacks, fitness facts that make it easy for us to stay well, body-mind movement modalities, books, and flowers. Did I mention writing, too (wink, wink)?
As a mother of two growing girls and a boy, I also share the wonderful journey of parenthood, those bittersweet moments when we watch them growing into themselves, and the heartrending moments when you watch one slip away from this life. Yes, I'm a mother who has experienced infant loss. All of the genetic tests revealed that our son had no links to genetic defects when he was diagnosed with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. When we learned that we'd been exposed to very high levels of fire retardants in our water supplies, the missing link in my health journey fell into place as I realized that our environment is a major contributor to our genetic expression. The food we eat and the way we move are only two factors in our overall health - something I hadn't learned in the 10 preceding years as a fitness instructor.
Boy, have I come a long way in five years!
That's why I'm here, my friend. I'm here to share with you the simple steps I've been taking since I learned there were better options. The marketplace is full of them these days!
Health is a journey. It should be fun. It should leave us feeling refreshed and vibrant. It should leave us feeling and looking our best, both inside and out, but it is all-encompassing.
Hence, the Joyous Beauty, a place for us to foray into cleaner living with a smile on our face. Detoxing our bodies, babies, and homes doesn't have to be overwhelming. It's unrealistic to think we can escape all exposure to the tens of thousands of chemicals manufactured in the world today. Yet we can minimize our exposure in the place we spend the most time, our home, and give our bodies time to heal and flush them out through small, sustainable lifestyle habit changes.
Expect to see me share all of my favorite things here, from the importance of my partnering with the clean beauty movement (I am totally biased here, my friend) to my love of fashionable and fun trends, to food facts and health hacks that will lead you down your own rabbit holes, and more! I cannot wait to get started!
